ACLU of Colorado Deputy Director Stephen Meswarb will give an overview of the ACLU’s mission, history, programs, and strategies, highlighting in particular the ACLU’s top priorities defending the Constitution and civil rights and civil liberties in the Trump era.
Stephen Meswarb, Deputy Director
As Deputy Director of the ACLU of Colorado, Stephen oversees finance, administration, and operations for the organization and assists with all organizational funding and policy strategies. Stephen has over 25 years of non-profit development, administrative, and policy experience, including 16 years working for the ACLU nationally and in Colorado. He spent three years managing the ACLU’s $335 million Leading Freedom Forward campaign, the largest campaign on behalf of civil rights and civil liberties in the country’s history. He has also held development positions at Amnesty International USA, Demos: A Network for Ideas & Action, Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, and the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Pomona College. Stephen is a native Coloradan, growing up in Wheat Ridge and Evergreen.
